Making reference to Echosmith’s hit song, the announcer for the event exclaimed to a buzzing crowd still digesting the amazing designs of the night, “We are the cool kids, Nashville!”. Although she may have still been settling her excitement from the impressive show, she was on to something. Among the crowd were leaders in a booming Nashville fashion scene (the fourth largest and growing fashion industry in the country, really), including Nashville Fashion Alliance’s Van Tucker, Two Son’s David Perry, O’More’s president David Rosen, and of course the champion of the night Stephanie Caporella.
According to David Rosen via williamsonsource.com, the show featured Japanese-inspired draping with an apocalyptic edge, Shibori dyeing techniques incorporated into plus-size women's wear, Mod-inspired children's knitwear to woodland and southwestern children's wear, quirky pattern mixing of menswear fabrics in feminine silhouettes, edgy women's wear with hand-dyed textiles, rave wear, Celtic inspired artisanal sportswear separates and minimalist fashion with an architectural influence.
